It all started when...
Pathography.org began to take shape when I realized how many other people were in this storm-tossed boat with me.
I realized just how much of my life was being dictated by pain. How much pain had stalked me, and often caught me, my entire adult life. How little help or direction is available for pain sufferers. How much research is done in this sphere yet so many questions remain.
Pathography.org is the place for everyone effected by pain to talk about their own leaky boats. (Or whatever metaphor they prefer.) Sufferers. Loved ones of sufferers. Caretakers. Medical professionals. Anyone whose personal or professional life is shaped or touched by pain is welcome here.
Through the sharing of your stories - through essays, comments, or the surveys - themes will emerge. Similarities and differences in experience will be explored. A greater understanding of what it's like to live with (or care for) pain will be revealed and shared.
It is a collective effort spearheaded by citizen scholarship and science, and will only be possible through the honesty and bravery of those willing to share their stories.
Please use the form below if you are interested in contributing your voice for inclusion in our "Pathographies - Collected Narratives" section. In the meantime, please consider adding your email to our list and taking the survey or surveys relevant to your life as soon as they are available.
